Create your own FiveM ped, step by step
A custom ped on a FiveM server is a character with files of its own that players can become. Here is the whole way in ModFiveM, from the first step until the ped can be picked in the game, with links to the guide for each part.
1. Start with a ped
If you have no ped, start from scratch: Create a new ped on the start screen builds a ped from one of the game's faces and a bare body, and you shape the face, skin, hair and body for free.
If you already have a ped, open its folder with the .ydd, .ytd and .ymt files. It is read in your browser and never uploaded.
2. Dress the ped
For GTA V's own clothes, open Catalog with the clothes from a folder on your computer, try the garments on the ped and add them with one click.
Add your own garments or garments from another ped with Add clothing. They are rigged to your ped.
Swap variants, move garments between numbers and remove what you do not want. Everything can be undone.
3. Change its looks
In the texture editor you recolour garments, add logos and text and make new variants, and see the result on the ped as you work.
Face shape, skin, eyes, hair and hair colours and tattoos are changed one by one, and everything shows at once in 3D.
4. Check it before the server
The editor warns about what can make the ped crash, go invisible or look wrong in the game, and most of it is fixed by itself when you export.
Keep the textures a sensible size, or the ped may turn blurry or invisible for other players. Optimize shows which garments take the most room and makes them smaller.
5. Export it and add it to the server
Press Export and choose FiveM resource. You get a finished resource with fxmanifest.lua, peds.meta and the stream folder.
Put the folder in the server's resources, add ensure with the ped's name to server.cfg and restart the server.
Let players become the ped, for example through vMenu, illenium-appearance or a script with SetPlayerModel.
What it costs
Editing is free, and so is the base for a new ped. An export costs credits for what you added, such as a new garment, and an export with nothing new costs nothing. The prices are on the pricing page.
