Wheels and rims
Put another set of rims on a car, and ModFiveM fits the new wheel to it: the same size, the same place, the right way round on both sides.
How a car’s wheels work
A car has one wheel model, and the game puts a copy of it at each wheel: front left, front right, rear left and rear right. Change that one wheel and all four change.
Where each wheel sits is set by the bones wheel_lf, wheel_rf, wheel_lr and wheel_rr. Trucks with more axles have more, such as wheel_lm1.
Swap the rims
Open Wheels. It shows the wheel the car has now: its radius, its width and whether it is centred.
Press Choose another car’s files and pick the other car’s
.yft, ideally with its_hi.yftand.ytd.The wheel is fitted at once: centred on the hub and scaled to this car’s wheel size. The view shows it on all four wheels before you export.
The right-hand wheels are the left one turned round, as in the game, so the spokes face out on both sides.
Fitting
The fitting measures the old wheel’s radius and where its centre is, and gives the new wheel the same. The wheels’ collision follows in size. If the car’s own wheel sits off centre, press Centre the wheel on its hub and it is centred, and tuning rims (which the game scales to the stock wheel) sit right again.
For a bigger, smaller or further-out wheel, adjust Size and In/out on the card. The view shows the change on all four wheels.
Good to know
This changes the car’s own stock wheel. Rims a player fits in a tuning shop still replace it in the game, as on any car.
Wheel textures
A new wheel brings its textures. ModFiveM adds them to the car’s .ytd, and Textures counts them towards FiveM’s limits. If the car grows too big, Textures and FiveM limits shows how to shrink it.
